Thus, in the more common usage of the terms MONO and POLY, to play guitar synth you want it in MONO mode, since you want each string to have its own channel, so pitch bends, etc., can be processed for the proper string. On a guitar, a string can only play one note at a time further, you want playing techniques (such as string bends, etc) to be associated with that string ONLY (since you can bend one string and leave the other alone). MONO means a MIDI channel can carry only ONE note at a time. ![]() Note also that the keyboard has ONE pitch wheel for all notes. ![]() Normally, POLY means the same MIDI channel can carry a bunch of different notes at the same time, e.g., for a keyboard. I noticed browsing around the manual that their definition of POLY and MONO doesn't seem to match the GR55's definition of POLY and MONO (which I've seen on other devices). ![]()
